Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 11.15.14 AMIn  a field full of rap and hip-hop artists how does one not only standout but stay relevant. Well UA decided to unearth and breathe life into the spiritual and mystical ethos that hasn’t been heard in the rap game since Tupac, X-Clan, and Zion I. It is  refreshing to hear lyrics that don’t just glorify and extoll the rap game but explore mental and spiritual aspects of life as an urban youth with drive trying to survive.

AK and Issa explore the complexities of life with the assistance of natural herbal remedies. The culmination of these experiences lead to creation of stunning complex lyricism that is brash, brutally honest yet reassuring to all those that can hear it. Their music is like telling someone that there is light at the end of the tunnel but first you must go through the dark. They also have found a way to blend blunts, bitches and bling into their music, this appears to be an acknowledgement that yes they are still mere mortal men and that it is an inescapable fact of life. Unlike so many of their peers they are travelling the road less taken and adding meaning to their music which is rare in today’s day in age where filler and fluff are flavour dujour.

So if you like rap and hip-hop and are  looking for different vibe check these guys out. They are currently on tour coming to a city or town near you.
