Festival D’ete Du Quebec 2015 edition

Submitted by on June 1, 2015 – 4:04 amNo Comment

For the uniniated Festival D’ete De Quebec is the longest running festival in Canada. And in true Canadian fashion showcases not only the best music the world has to offer, but also the best and brightest from all across la belle provence.

Festival D’ete de Quebec recently announced its line up for the 48th annual. Each and every year they work tirelessly to create the biggest and best festival Canada has. Only one problem how do you continue to deliver mind blowing, show stopping performances year after year. Bon Jovi & Aerosmith(2012), Rush, Wu-Tang Clan & Stevie Wonder(2013), Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Billy Joel, &Sound garden(2014) Yet Festival D’ete de Quebec always delivers. Let’s see what this years lineup looks like.

This year will see a lot more intimate venues being accessed to compliment the usual three of Scene Hydro-Quebec, Loto-Quebec, and the expansive Plaines D’Abraham. This years theme is an eclectic mix of Blues, Rock’n’Roll, and the wildly popular Electronic Dance Music with a few pop stars and some randomness thrown in for good measure.

One of the Best things about Festival D’ete de Quebec is there usually always something for everyone whether your music aficionado, want to have a family outing or just love concerts.

Day One: July 9

Festival D’ete de Quebec gets to experience the Full Flex Express Tour. Jack U (Skrillex&Diplo)and Co will open the fest with their mind blowing sights and sounds. Party starts at 4:30 in the afternoon on Plaines D’Abraham

If Edm isn’t your cup of tea you can always check out Family of the Year or Chocolat.

Day Two: July 10

The Tragically Hip

Keith Urban

Arthur H

Salome Leclerc

If you’re a fan of both these artists and you want to see both of them you’re in luck as Scene Loto stage is a 5-10 minute walk from Plaines D’Abraham. If country or rock music isn’t your thing we have listed a few other amazing artists for you to check out.

Day Three: July 11

Royal Blood & Foo Fighters

Tribal Seeds

Colin James

Day Four: July 12

Metz & Black Lips

JJ Grey & Mofro

Icona Pop & Iggy Azalea

Sunday is a mixed bag with rock, blues rock, edm and pop. Available for your listening pleasure. Our advice is to check the Imperial stage or some of the smaller venues. You are free to head out to Plaines D’Abraham but we don’t recommend it.

Day Five: July 13

The Doobie Brothers & Boston

Charles Bradley

Future Islands

Day Six: July 14

Patrick Bruel

Primus & the Chocolate Factory

The OBGM’s

The Wilderness

Run the Jewels

The busiest day on the schedule thus far with a lot of amazing music going on. First off Patrick Bruel, the most celebrated Quebecois in the land brings his musical stylings to Plaines D’Abraham. If you like to know more . This is the day for music lovers of all stripes especially aficionado’s of good music. Why you say? Because if you plan you day right you can take in the sights and sounds of The Wilderness (Petit Imperial 6pm), Primus & The Chocolate Factory (Loto-Quebec9pm) then head to The Cercle to catch The OBGM’s for 11:30.

For the Hip Hop Heads out their Run the Jewels is also performing on this night at Imperial Bell

Day 6: July 15

The Rolling Stones

Paul Oakenfold

This day will see rock purists gather en masse to witness one of the best selling rock bands of all time. And on the other side Edm fans will rocked by the sounds of a Dj three decades into a storied career.

Day Seven: July 16

De La Soul & IAM

Lemon Bucket Orchestra, Grand Analog & Antibalas

This is certainly one of not the most eclectic combinations of the festival. First off we have old school Hip-Hop Trio De La Soul opening for French hip- hop group IAM who music is idealogical, and political charged. Then we have Toronto’s favourite Guerilla-folk band opening for hip-hop group Grand Analog who are opening for Brooklyn based Afro beat squad Antibalas. And neither of these peak your curiosity you can always check out Lights.

Day Eight: July 17

Barr Brothers & Patrick Watson

Viet Cong & Interpol

Gypsy Kumbia & Red Baraat

Daddy Long Legs

A Utopia for indie music lovers. This is a night dedicated to all that is indie from start to finish at every venue.

Day Nine: July 18

Zappa plays Zappa

Black Denim

Metal Heads Rejoice as Megadeth hits the stage of the Plaines D’abraham

On the Loto-Quebec Stage you have Zappa plays Zappa

and there is some really good funk, soul and world music at other venues across the city.

Day Ten: July 19

Deep Purple

Milky Chance

Los Van Van

Closing out Festival D’ete is Classic-rock band Deep purple who takes to the stage to open for the world’s most hated rock band.

If that doesn’t appeal to you. The other options are Los Van Van an amazing ensemble band, German Indie pop Milky Chance, or the 20th Anniversary of Quebec punk band Map

Always something for everyone, regardless of your taste during Festival D’ete.
