Sarah Serenades Everyone in the Garden

If you’re attending a Sarah Macdougall shows its because you’re a true music lover. The venues are usually quite eclectic, and you’re gonna get 45 minutes of pure unadulterated music. No theatrics, flashy lights, or pyrotechnics. Just a girl, her guitar and Mic stand. And really that’s all you need. But with people’s attention spans being what they are, a lot of artists try to keep the audience entertained with gizmos, gadgets and choreographed back-up dancers.

For those unfamiliar with Sarah Macdougall work, she is a rising star in the Canadian Folk Music scene, she writes dynamic songs, is a skilled guitarist and is an astounding vocalist. Born in Sweden, Canadian transplant who now calls the Whitehorse,Yukon home. Her latest album

At 8 pm Sarah strolls out on stage dressed in plaid shirt, jeans and cowboy boots, steps up to the mic, guitar in hand and warmly greets everyone.

Several songs in Sarah engages the crowd and let’s them know about herself and where she’s from and where she calls home. You see there is something beautiful about the Yukon, you go there for a vacation or house sitting job as was my case and for one reason or another never want to leave. And every time you think ya i’ll head back to the big city but first I need to do this. And this turns into a year or three, if you ever get the chance to visit you’ll understand what I mean.

She then finishes out her set and heads for her merch table to meet, greet, sign copies of her albums and take photos with eagerly awaiting fans and patrons.

Sarah MacDougall is a rising star in Canadian Folk Music. Critics have been lavishing her with high praise and rave reviews for her guitar chops and as well as her amazing vocals. If you’re musically adventurous give her a listen you wont be disappointed.
