Bed of Stars releases B&W video for “The Spell”

Submitted by on June 5, 2014 – 1:38 amNo Comment

Bed of StarsEvan Konrad is a man with a burning passion inside, not only for music, but also for interpersonal connections – and he needed an outlet.

That outlet became known as Bed of Stars, Konrad’s release of emotional and musical talents intertwined with a fine grasp on the world around him. The British Columbia native is achieving great heights in his classical style of composition.Bed of Stars’ debut release I Fell in Love in the City (2012) epitomizes all that Konrad is, and what he sought so eagerly to express in his unique way. Now, he’s released a follow-up four-song Ep titled Tell Me if it’s True.

The first single and video from the new album “The Spell” brings the audience on an introspective journey into the depths of manipulation and influence in the ranks of relationships of any kind.

The contrast of the black and white cinematography develop the story alongside the singer and a dancer. The ballerina serves as a fleeting, yet beautiful memory that once was a serene reality – an image of perfection – but her silence speaks to her absence in his present life.

After listening to the song twice, I watched the video again muted. Although I had knowledge of the lyrics, the video tells a story of its own, one that’s very parallel to the subject matter in Konrad’s lyrical content.

This young man from Vancouver is indeed talented, and his ballads are both intoxicating and mesmerizing all at once, and his own journey has merely just begun. A multi-instrumentalist who manages all his own recordings and affairs, is now empowered by the backing of Last Light Records
