Emily Reid’s Nashville Sermon in Toronto

Submitted by on March 29, 2013 – 5:08 pmNo Comment

At the age of 17, Emily Reid has experienced moments most people could only dream of.

She told her family and friends growing up that she was going to be a musician.

As pronounced, she packed herself up and moved from the small island of Victoria, B.C. She decided to uproot her life and transplant herself to the Bible Belt of the U.S., to America’s country music capital, Nashville, Tenn.

Now, still only ripening at the age of 21, Reid has churned out her first full length album which amassed thousands of downloads in just a few weeks. She also released a video to her single “The River” which has accumulated over ten thousand views thus far.

To top it all off her independent debut album broke the Billboard top 200 and her music is in rotation at over 100 radio stations nationwide.

Reid has a busy year projected for her as she has tour plans in the works as well as performing at two of the largest music festivals in North America, South by South West and of course Canadian Music Week in Toronto.Story by Tee Onek  photos by ftfphotography
