New Democrats introduce their new leader via TV ad

Submitted by on April 10, 2012 – 7:21 pmNo Comment

Since March 24 of this year, when Tom – as he’s referred to in a new NDP TV ad – was elected the man to follow Jack Layton as NDP leader, the party has made a surge. One poll even found the NDP in a dead heat with the Tories. The survey, conducted  for the Montreal Gazette and Le Devoir by Léger Marketing, revealed if an election were held today, the NDP would capture 26 per cent of the vote, to the Conservatives’ 25 per cent. Following the late Layton’s untimely passing, the NDP looked like easy prey for hungry sharks in the Conservative cabinet, but with a veteran House stud like Mulcair now in place at the helm, the party looks not only stable, but strong again.
