K’Naan and Nas team up on “Nothing To Lose”

Somali-Canadian rapper K’Naan has been quiet in terms of new projects since the release of his smash 2009 album Troubadour. But the inspirational 34-year-old singer, poet and activist – who was born and raised in Mogadishu, Somalia, during the bloody civil war that tore the east African nation apart in the 90s, and spent his teenage years in Toronto’s notorious Rexdale projects – is back with a five-track EP entitled More Beautiful Than Silence, which hit shelves Jan. 31. With an arsenal of conscious raps, as highlighted on the album’s first single, “Nothing To Lose,” rolled into the five-track EP, MBTS picks right up where Troubadour left off.
