Four new cities to host Wacken Metal Battle Canada
Over the last two years since 2013, Wacken Metal Battle Canada has seen Canada’s top metal bands battle each other for one to rule them all and perform at the world’s largest metal festival Wacken Open Air in Wacken, Germany. Toronto’s Crimson Shadows (2013 winners) and Montreal’s Mutank (2014 winners) have had that honour, playing in front of thousands.
Now with Wacken Metal Battle Canada’s 2015 submissions set to open on November 20th, 2014 till January 6th, 2015, WMBC is also proud to announce its expansion to Ottawa, Quebec City, Saskatoon and Winnipeg to join Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and Montreal as official battle grounds.
“We’re happy to be expanding again this year again with the addition of Ottawa, Quebec City, Winnipeg, and Saskatoon. As pillars of the metal community it’s our duty to provide the opportunities of Metal Battle to as many Canadian bands as possible.” said WMBC organizer JJ Tartaglia.
Each city will hold their qualifying rounds plus city finals from the months of February to May 2015 selecting the top band to move forward to the national finals in Toronto, ON in June (date to be determined) with one being selected to perform at the 26th edition of Wacken Open Air taking place from July 30th to August 1st. All bands will be judged during battle rounds by respected local music industry.
