TSO begins its treasured Pop Concert Series
For all you pop enthusiasts it’s that time of year again. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) under the direction of Steve Reineke are performing their yearly Pop Concert Series.With a mix of pop tunes, Broadway hits and many memorable melodies and jingles from TV and film.
The season opened with bang with the return of the Finnish ensemble Rajaton joining the TSO and creating their own unique, captivating, melodic take on some of the Fab Four’s number one hits. Including an arrangement from Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.The Pop concert series is helmed by one of the most sought-after pop conductors Steven Reineke. Steven’s limitless energy and enthusiasm mixed with his incredible artistry as not just a conductor but also a savvy composer and arranger have made him in demand conductor.So in addition to his position at the TSO, Steven is also the Music Director of the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, as well as Principal Pops Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. When Steven isn’t working with these amazing organizations he spends his time, with his husband Eric Hubbard, at their home in New York.
