Poll finds Canadians are as ‘uncool’ as ever

Submitted by on September 6, 2011 – 2:53 pmNo Comment

Despite the recent international success of homegrown artists and entertainers from Drake, Justin Bieber and Nickelback to Ellen Page, Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen, a new poll finds Canadians are still one of the least cool nations on the planet.

The survey, conducted by social networking site Badoo.com, asked 30,000 people across 15 countries to name the coolest nationality. No surprise, the Americans were voted first.

“America,” said Lloyd Price, Badoo’s Director of Marketing, “boasts the world’s coolest leader, Obama; the coolest rappers, Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg; and the coolest man in technology, Steve Jobs of Apple, the man who even made geeks cool.”

Brazilians were voted the second coolest nationality, followed by the Spaniards, Italians and French.

Of the five least cool nations, Canada found itself in fourth place, sandwiched between the Germans in fifth and Turks in third.

The Badoo poll found Belgians, Poles and Turks were the least cool of all the countries included in the survey.
